Fist time holidays for babies are so fun! Jake definitely enjoyed his first Easter, and Andrew enjoyed being parents on Easter for the first time as well. Andrew's family helped Jake celebrate his first Easter with a cute chalk design, and my mom helped us make our apartment more festive with some peep garland she made.
We stayed at my parents house Saturday night and Sunday my mom woke up and did Jake's early feeding so Andrew and I could sleep in- that was a great Easter gift!
When Andrew and I finally got up, we helped Jake find his Easter Basket.
Andrew and I watched an Easter video about the Savior and tried to explain to Jake why we celebrate Easter. We are so fortunate that God sent His Son and that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins that we might be forgiven when we make mistakes. What a great and terrible day when He died, but what a magnificent day when He burst the bands of death and rose again!! Easter really is one of the best holidays, and I hope that as Jake grows up he'll know the real reason for Easter, and that he will have a strong testimony that his Savior lives!
We took Jake to church in my family's ward and enjoyed the inspirational talks and music.
After church we went to my grandparents house for the afternoon and evening. Jake had a lot of fun with my beautiful cousins Grace and Paige.
He also enjoyed seeing my aunts, uncles, parents, and grandparents.
As the day went on, Jake kept losing layers of clothes- he has started to drool like crazy! He also gets warm really easily.
We loved our first Easter as a family of 3!
