Sick :(

Yesterday I took my first sick day in over a year.  It's one thing for me to suck it up and work when I'm sick, especially because I work from home, but it's another thing to be sick AND have a sick baby. 

My poor little guy has his first cold, and it's so sad!  I wish I could teach him how to blow his nose, because he HATES the nasal aspirator/bugger sucker.  He sees that thing coming and screams.  I feel so bad cleaning out his nose, but otherwise he can't breathe, especially when he is eating.

He has been so, so cuddly, though.  He seems pretty happy as long as Andrew or I are holding him.  Yesterday I was feeling miserable in the shower (just icky from having a cold), and got out to Andrew rushing to finish getting ready for school and Jake screaming because he wasn't being held.  I knew work was not going to go well as I stood in the bathroom, wrapped in my towel, dripping wet and holding my poor, snotty, sad little man.  We get two sick days a year at Myler Disability, which expire based on your hire date.  Mine run out at the end of the month, so I guess it was nice to use at least one of them.

Once Jake calmed down, I got dressed (in sweat pants and Andrew's shirt), texted my boss to let her know I'd make up the work on Saturday, and snuggled with my little man all day- Andrew got home around 5 and we were both still in our pajamas surrounded by tissues, but happy to have enjoyed our sick day together.
