I know it's kind of ridiculous that our dog's name is just as little-boyish as our baby's. When Andrew and I found out we were going to have a little boy, we came up with a list of names we liked. We decided at that point we probably shouldn't have named our dog Kyle because we both actually like the name, but by then it was a little too late...
Where you find one of them, you often find the other as well, especially now that Jake can roll to Kyle.
But it's not always Jake coming to join Kyle, the dog always wants to be around Jake as well.
I love watching them play together. The only unfortunate part so far has been that the dog brings the baby his disgusting, chewed on, licked toys. And Jake sticks them right into his mouth before we even know what's happened. We have no pictures of that, though. As soon as we see it, we yank the toy or bone right out of Jake's mouth. I'm not really sure what to do about it because if we take away Kyle's toys, I'm certain Jake's will all get chewed up- plus he'd be devastated!
I worried so much before Jake came and when he was little (even littler than he is now) that Kyle wouldn't handle him very well, especially because he really is a hand full, but Kyle has done great. Even when Jake lays on him, pulls his fur, grabs at his tongue, or won't let go of his tail, Kyle takes it and won't snap at him. Thank goodness!
These two are best buds. I'm excited for Kyle's sake for when Jake will stop torturing him and start really playing with him. He'll think he's died and gone to doggy heaven! I'm not trying to rush that, though. Jake's already growing up way too fast!
